An accounting firm in Fayetteville, GA is seeking a permanent full-time position for a staff accountant with at least 4 to 6 years of firm experience. 

 You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing individual and business tax returns of varying complexity
  • Working closely with clients
  • Generating financial statements as required

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has a positive attitude
  • Is a self-starter
  • Is detail-oriented
  • Has experience with QuickBooks, Windows, Excel, and Word
  • Has strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Is able to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • May possess the following pluses:
    • Familiarity with tax research
    • Experience handling IRS and state notices
    • CPA license

Receptionist position includes such duties as:

  • Welcoming clients
  • Answering the telephone
  • Managing daily email and paper mail correspondence, including distributing mail to the correct member of staff
  • Scanning in client tax documents 
  • Tax return assembly and delivery to the client (mail or pickup) 
  • Ordering and maintaining office supplies
  • Invoicing the clients through UltraTax
  • Mailing monthly statements to clients
  • Making daily deposits of money using a direct deposit machine 

Additional notes:

  • Tax season I starts mid-February through April 15.
  • Tax season II starts mid-August through October 15.
  • May be needed to work some Saturdays
  • On Fridays outside of tax season, the workday ends at noon.
  • Comp time is available up to 40 hours in a calendar year.
  • Position starts with 17 days of PTO up to five years of employment (PTO is prorated in your first year of employment based on your starting date); after five years of employment, the PTO increases to 22 days. 
  • 401(k) is available, plus a match of 4% based on the participant’s contribution and provisions of the plan documents. There is no waiting period as you can contribute to it on day one of employment, and there is immediate vesting.
  • Bonuses are based on work performance throughout the year.
